My paws hammered the ground nailing the grass to its doom. I ran faster stretching my legs to carry me faster and farther. I could feel the flames singing my beautiful black pelt. My paws began to feel the fire from behind making them ache from ever paw step. Then I saw a river up a head and had a plan to jump into the water and swim to safety. I flew into the ice cold water swimming franticly to the other side of the bank. My heart fell silent as I realized my pack was nowhere in sight. Pushing myself through the cold water trying to find ground the sharp rocks at the bottom bruised my pads.
